When your car doesn’t start, it is extremely frustrating, not to mention inconvenient. Below are some common reasons to help identify why your car won’t start.
The car battery powers the car and its electrical components. If your car battery is dead, then you won’t be able to start the car or use any electrical parts. Some of the reason why your battery is dead include old age, loose wire, and poor conductivity.
A bad starter may give the impression of a weak battery. Faulty starters usually draw more current than what the battery can supply, making it hard for the car to start.
Out of gas
A pretty obvious reason, but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t check the gas level in their car. Check the dashboard to see if you’re there is a low gas warning.
Faulty ignition switch
If your car battery seems to be okay, but your car is still not starting, then the ignition switch might be defective.
Clogged fuel filter
If your car’s fuel filter is clogged, then fuel will not reach the engine. This makes it hard for your car to start because the engine lacks the fuel to burn.
